Why Melbourne are Sponsoring the Big Chip Awards

This May will find Melbourne – we are a server hosting data centre – expanding our facilities.

We will be offering an additional 120 racks, about 3,000 more servers, at our new purpose built Manchester Technopark data centre.  Work is already underway, the centre will be open within a month and we already have orders coming in.

Until recently we relied on word of mouth to gain new clients and this worked well: our current data centre is almost full.  The introduction of our virtualisation service a couple of months ago ensured that the remaining capacity would be taken.

So why have we decided to change our approach and sponsor a Big Chip award?

Well, we have a great product and service even if I do say it myself.  But that is only of partial benefit if we do not tell anyone.  We needed to raise our profile and we felt the Big Chip Awards was an ideal place to be seen.  So we are sponsoring Best Technological Innovation.

Melbourne hosts thousands of websites for digital media agencies and corporate clients.  We are keen to get that message out and what better place is there to do that than at The Big Chips?

What we are hoping is that by supporting the industry in our home region we will help generate the awareness that can help put us in the forefront of agency personnel’s minds.

So when the big night comes in June we will be there in print and in person and perhaps in Second Life, if the organisers are doing that this year.
