Well Son, ask not what the Big Chips can do for you, ask what you can do for the “Big Chips” And so on. But seriously folks, the Big Chip Awards is by the sector for the sector. Manchester is run with a huge amount of voluntary effort by the digital sector in the North West. The reach of the organisation is the entirety of the North West. We make a diference to the digital sector and through that to the economy of the North West.

SHORTLIST FOR ‘GAME OF THE NORTH’ AT BIG CHIP AWARDS ANNOUNCED

Two North West companies have been shortlisted for the Game of the North Award at this year’s Big Chip Awards  – with one seeing two of its games in the running.

Connect2Media, based in Manchester city centre has been shortlisted by a special panel of judges for  “Go! Go! Rescue Squad!”  and “Guitar Hero Backstage Pass”.

Evolution Studios, from Runcorn, Cheshire, is the other agency shortlisted for its “MotorStorm: Pacific Rift” game.

BILL ON THE BILL AT BIG CHIP AWARDS

Organisers of the Big Chip Awards 2009 have announced a special guest who will take to the stage following the awards presentation, to round off the evening in his own unique style.

Comedian, actor and musician Bill Bailey will be making the quick step over from his sell-out ‘Bill Bailey – Live’ tour at the Palace Theatre to the Palace Hotel, where the Big Chip Awards are taking place, on June 18th 2009.

This year’s Tasty Website Award is the first time a Big Chip category has been open to popular vote. We created this new award to fill a gap.
Since they were started in 1997, the Big Chip awards have built up a reputation for integrity and impartiality. An important factor in this has been the maintenance of strict judging standards and this in turn has mean developing a clear specification of the judging criteria for each award.
